What is it?
Botox, or Botulinum neurotoxin, is injected intramuscularly by a trained provider to prevent muscle movement by preventing the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine from axon endings at the neuromuscular junction. The most common uses are to relax facial muscles that cause frown lines, facial wrinkles, or cause migraines.
